NWSS were pleased to attend and exhibit at RHE′s biennial PWS conference in Birmingham on 24th April 2018.

Our stand showcased our potable water sampling training videos that we have created to help local authorities with their sampling technique. There was a strong level of interest in the videos at the event and they will be set live on our website and YouTube account next Tuesday at 12:00.

We also included the ′Test Your Trunk′ odour detection game in which attendees tried to detect three mystery odours in water, selecting from a list of descriptors used in quantitative odour analysis. The two prize winners won an orphan elephant adoption gift from the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a charity that cares for orphan elephants after their mothers have been slaughtered for ivory.

The event attracted over 80 delegates, mostly from local authorities, including some of our own PWS customers. Attendees also included academics, drillers, hydrologists and consultants. There were a number of presentations on a range of topics pertinent to private supplies. We recommend this conference to anybody with an interest in PWS work and we look forward to the next event in 2020 - for more information please visit the event page on the RHE website here.
