At Scientific Services we want to improve our environmental performance in all areas, including the performance of our landholdings.

 

In early June we cleared an area of mown grass around our Howdon laboratory site and sowed a wildflower seed mix. Our goal is to increase the diversity of flora in our local environment, and thereby to support the population of bees, butterflies and other insects. The flowers are just starting to come into bloom now, eleven weeks after they were sown on 1st June. We plan to expand our wildflower garden areas by planting additional sites next year.
